CASTING:

Although physical resemblances are a plus, we are mostly interested in powerful actors who can work as an ensemble to create for the audience the playwright's rendition of this historic event. The mood of the play pivots from fraternal conviviality to casting blame to sympathy to shared mutual respect.

ROLES:

Gerald Ford: Male, 50's-60's+

will age up with make-up to play 81, 6’0”+; the 38th President of the United States; Ford should have a Midwestern accent. Ford is expected to give Nixon's eulogy, but he is adamantly opposed to doing so.

Jimmy Carter: Male, 50's-60's+

will age up with make-up to play 70, 5’7”-5'9"; the 39th President of the United States; Carter should have a southern accent; although the perennial arbiter of peaceful relations, he is not timid and is willing to state his case forcefully when required.

*ROLE IS PRE-CAST THRU AUG. 11TH.  LOOKING FOR REPLACEMENT/UNDERSTUDY.

Ronald Reagan: Male, 50's-60's+

will age up with make-up to play 83, 6’0”+; 40th President of the United States; Reagan has a neutral mid-western accent. Although charming and humorous mostly, he occasionally slips into the early, clearly apparent signs of dementia. This will be his final public appearance.

George H.W. Bush: Male, 50's-60's+

will age up with make-up to play 70, 6’0”+; 41st President of the United States; Although claimed by Texas as one of their own, Bush grew up in New England. Intelligent and poised, he displays a no nonsense counterpoint when sparring verbally with Clinton. Protective of Reagan.

Bill Clinton: Male, mid 40's-50's

to play 48, 6’0”+; 42nd President of the United States;   has a southern accent. The current President in the play. Also the youngest member of "the club".  Undeniably charismatic, he arrives late and is overly eager to join into the Presidential camaraderie.  Not to be underestimated.

Special Agent Kirby: Male, 30's- early 40's

Clean cut Secret Service Agent on Presidential Detail.  Kirby ushers in each President and secures the room, until the memorial service begins.  Exudes physical fitness and professionalism.
