Auditions for The Middle Keeps Moving - an original Loom Lab production at The Southern Theatre as part of the Minnesota Fringe Festival
Seeking performers with movement experience for our next devised production, The Middle Keeps Moving. Through clowning, movement, story, and music, this show will focus on the dissonant experience of surviving trauma and continuing to live in a society that functions according to linear time. The devising process will employ ensemble building, conversation, and tools to develop individual movement vocabulary. Additionally, the process will include holding space for conversations about trauma, its effects, and ensuring the health and safety of everyone involved while exploring these topics. All performers will receive a stipend.
Priority to Queer, Trans, and PoC
About Loom Lab:
Loom Lab is a collaboration between movement artist, Torre Edahl (she/her), and theatre artist, Mariah Larkin (they/them). Born of a desire to create truly interdisciplinary work, Loom Lab uses devising as a frame upon which to weave stories, finding our voice at the intersection of genre, identity, and form. Our desire to create new work is emergent of our commitment to process and development. With our collective skills in dance, theatre, film, independent production, company management, and education we exist as a collective of individual artists eager to invite in the experiences of fellow artists as well as audience.
We are excited to be collaborating with Writer/Performer, Khadija Siddiqui (they/them) on this production.
