The winner of eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Entertainment Weekly called the musical “…the most gorgeous Broadway score this decade.” Charles Isherwood of the New York Times wrote” Broadway…may never be the same…[A] brave new musical, haunting and electrifying by turns.”

Performances: October 26-November 10, 2018 (11 Performances)

Rehearsals: Monday-Friday, September 10-October 25 from 6:00-10:00PM and Saturdays September 22, October 6, and October 20 from 10:00AM-2:00PM.

Audition Information: ALL ROLES ARE OPEN, AND ALL ACTORS, SEVENTEEN (17) AND OLDER, FROM THROUGHOUT THE TWIN CITIES REGION, ARE WELCOME AND ENCOURAGED TO AUDITION.  

General Audition Dates: September 4th and 5th at 6:00pm (Actors need only attend one of those two nights and no preset appointment times or advanced sign-ups to audition necessary).                                                                          

Call Back Auditions: September 6 at 6:00PM (actors will be directly emailed on the evening of September 5th if they are called back to audition on the 6th).

Audition Format: At the general auditions, actors will be asked to sing a one (1) minute song of their choice (actors must bring marked sheet music, an accompanist will be provided) or sing a cut from a song we will teach the auditioning actors at the auditions. No a cappella singing or singing with recorded accompaniment. There will also be a dance audition (please wear clothes and shoes you can dance in).

Call Back Auditions will consist of readings from the script and singing numbers from the score.

The staging of this production of Spring Awakening: The Musical is going to be very unique, exciting, and powerful.

Character Breakdown:

Wendla

Innocent. With every passing day, she grows more curious about the world around her and her changing body. Both vulnerable and a willing participant in her evolution. Explores her newly-found sexuality with Melchior.

A smart, headstrong boy who refuses to bow down to society's rules. An atheist and radical student. Struggles with his intense feelings for Wendla and his awakening sexual urges.

Anna
