Andover High School Theater is currently looking to hire an experienced Choreographer for its spring production of The Wizard of Oz (MUNY version).
Each year, Andover High School’s award-winning theatre program performs a fall play, a selection of one act plays, and a spring musical. The program works toward providing a well-rounded experience for a student’s four-year high school career, with the goal of educating future professional theatre artists as well as future audience members. We set a continually high standard for students in terms of commitment to theatre, other fine arts, and academics. To learn more about our program visit andovertheatre.org.
The artist we are looking to hire should not only have experience in their art form, but ideally will also have experience working with youth. The expectation is that the choreographer will attend auditions, choreograph and teach choreography for all dance numbers, and help to polish or adjust choreography as performances approach; this position could continue on to future years if desired by both parties.
Schedule is very flexible and can be determined with the director. An approximate time commitment might be 1 day/week through Feb and March, 2 days/week in April, and daily during tech week and performances. The stipend is $1200.
