It's a Wonderful Life Auditions for Black Dirt Theater


Auditions will be at the Hastings High School, 200 General Sieben Drive, Hastings, MN 55033 on September 6th, September 7th and September 8th, see sign up for times. Call Backs for these auditions will be September 8th from 12:00-2:30 pm. For your audition you do not need to have anything prepared, just come ready to read something from the script. Auditions are 10 minutes long and will be held in groups of 6.

Looking for adult actors and child actors 10 and up.

Main Roles in the show: 

George Bailey - A man with big dreams of traveling the world and becoming an architect. But when his family needs him to remain in town, he chooses to stay and do what is right, putting aside his personal dreams. George feels like he has let everyone down and that the world would be better off without him.

Clarence - A low ranking angel trying to earn his wings. He is sent to help George see the impact he has made on the world around him and convince him not to take his life.

Mary Bailey - George's sweetheart and wife who has always loved him. She is the glue that holds the family together. She is confident in who she is, and that George is a part of who she is.

Mr. Potter - The richest man in town, who wants to own the whole town so he can be richer off the people of the town and have more power, whatever the cost to others.


Rehearsals will be on week days from September through the run of the show.
