The Self Sufficient Actor- with Karen Weber

Learn how to create a deep, nuanced, and fully-integrated performance while becoming a more resilient artist.

This is a fresh new class offered to Twin Cities theater artists of all backgrounds, led by esteemed actor/director Karen Weber. For four Saturdays in July, actors will gather at the Good Arts Collective space in downtown Minneapolis to analyze scripts and engage in vigorous scene work with partners. Each 2.5 hour class offers every scene time to perform, and an opportunity to give and receive feedback, all while building community and relationships with other artists.

About Karen: With 25 years of experience as a Twin Cities actor and director, Karen has worked at Park Square Theater, History Theatre, Ordway Center for the Performing Arts, Minneapolis Music Theater, Bloomington Civic Theatre (Artistry), Plymouth Playhouse, Troupe America, Actors Theatre of Minnesota, Theatre Latté Da, Theatre in the Round, Daleco Arts, Gremlin, Jon Hassler Theater, Playwrights' Center, Illusion Theater, Empty Space Collective, Nautilus Music Theatre, and more. Her work has spanned musical theater, classics, new plays, commercial, and film. She is excited to work with actors across all mediums, and of all backgrounds and levels. Karen believes that the best actors are collaborative, and works to foster a spirit of ensemble in every setting. She strives to challenge artists to step outside their comfort zones in a safe, trustworthy, and supportive environment, in order to grow their personal artistry and professional mastery.
