Theatre Corrobora, the creative team behind four Minnesota Fringe Festival shows including 2016 encore-winning “It Always Rained in Paris,” are holding auditions for a new original play. Performances will take place at this year’s Fringe Festival on the Augsburg Mainstage.
We are looking for eight actors in their 20s who are open to sharing their ideas and experiences as we create the show. Though we are unable to pay people at this time, we offer a chance to develop new material in a positive, supportive and fun environment with a group of emerging artists who have five years of producing experience. Performers will also receive Fringe artist passes and comps as available. (Visit our website for more information about Theatre Corrobora)
ABOUT THE SHOW
Sadie and Jade have been together for five years, but only one of them really wants to keep going. Penny and Steven got married at 24, and pretend everything is perfect instead of confronting their insecurities. And then there’s Margaret, who’s serially single but would rather stay that way than download another dating app. When a PhD student doing a thesis on intimacy interviews these friends about their relationships, their lives become even more interconnected than they thought. Silly and weird as well as dramatic, the play examines different facets of millennial dating culture and looks at the Internet’s hold on our behavior.
STEVEN, PENELOPE’s husband
JADE, SADIE’s girlfriend
BEN, MARGARET’s love interest
JOHN, MARGARET’s love interest
